The 4Xploring Rocks N Woods is a 5-day (Monday through Friday), challenge route event. The event is limited to 15 vehicles to make it an intimate experience for drivers. The Rocks N Woods event begins with a 5:00 PM drivers meeting with meet and greet on Sunday, July 1, near Deadwood, SD, where we will introduce everyone, do technical inspections, and distribute some 4Xploring gear!

One of the great pleasures of four-wheeling is that we get to explore and enjoy vistas that only a handful of others get to experience. The many diversified trails offered on this excursion not will not only provide you with memorable moments, but also deliver the added bonus of being close to dozens of historic and popular tourist attractions in the scenic Black Hills of South Dakota.

Here’s what you’ll be getting yourself and your Jeep® into on the Rocks N Woods: These are a series of challenging trails; rocks, rocks and more rocks. Are you and your Jeep® up to the challenge of 5 non-stop wheeling days? On this adventure, we will travel on highways and county roads to the trails on the agenda—meaning road speeds up to 65 MPH. You will need to be prepared and self-sufficient. Jeeps® will break and parts will fail, so you’ll need to know your vehicle well and be able to wrench on it to repair or patch it in order to complete the week. Please note we say “break” and “fail”—not wear out. Don’t show up for the trip with your Jeep in need of maintenance. It must be in top running order, with all components in tip-top shape.

The 4Xploring team has put together a unique experience for you. We will be staying at one venue for the entire week and taking day trips from this central location. Motorhomes, trailers and tents are welcome; the host facility also has cabins for rent available. All styles of accommodations have full access to the host camp’s excellent facilities.

On this adventure, we will encounter average high temperatures between 70 and 90+ degrees and average lows between 40 and 60 degrees. Be prepared for all weather conditions.
