The annual 4Xploring™ NorthWoods Getaway is a 5 day, Monday through Friday, adventure style event. The event is limited to 8 vehicles crewed with a driver and navigator to make it intimate, manageable and unforgettable. The NorthWoods Getaway begins with a M&G on Sunday Sep 19^th at the 4Xploring booth at the Keweenaw Overland Adventure Retreat (KOAR) located just outside of Copper Harbor, MI at Trails End Campground. Dat’s in da UP eh? Here we will introduce everyone and get acquainted, do tech inspections, check gear and distribute swag. The diversified trails offered on this getaway adventure consist of scenic back country gravel roads and 2 tracks, magnificent views of Gitchigumi (aka Lake Superior) and unforgettable fall colors.

Let us tell you a little bit about what you are getting yourself and your Jeep into. On this adventure we will travel on state highways that crisscross and intersect the backcountry roads and trails we will be traveling on to getaway and relax. This can mean road speeds up to 65 MPH, but for the most part we will be casually traveling at a much slower pace in da woods. We will be camping in the backcountry of the UP of Michigan, Northern Wisconsin and Northern Minnesota revolving around the shores of Lake Superior. 

You can expect average high temperatures between 50 & 70+ degrees and average lows between 30 & 50 degrees– be prepared for all weather conditions. We will have cooking demonstrations, GPS navigation & mapping “classes”, large campfires where we can tell tales of the day. One highlight of this trip will be a day of canoeing on one of the upper Midwest premier waterways. Spending time in the Northwoods is always relaxing, but if you are looking for a little more adventure, or even the tale of a lifetime, keep a watchful eye out and you could spy a Sasquatch or possibly the more elusive Snipe…
